Waiting

Senior Master Sergeant William H. Williams, Jr. entered the US Air Force in 1970 and served over 22 years. Early in his military career, he trained in administration and was assigned to several Air Force Bases across the country and abroad. In 1976, he performed duties in the 319th Bomb Wing at Grand Forks Air Force Base in North Dakota and won numerous awards consolidating administration functions.
Also in 1976, Sergeant Williams began his work in social actions programs. His assistance in dealing with adverse human relations problems launched his full-time career in social actions.

Sergeant Williams' military awards and decorations include: Three Meritorious Service Medals, three air Force Commendations Medals, the Air Force Achievement Medal, The Air Force Good Conduct Medal with silver star, The National Defense Medal and the Air Force Outstanding Unit Award and Organizational Excellence Award.

Sergeant Williams has dedicated his life to supporting his country and his community. He now needs our help - as he is suffering from end-stage kidney disease. Sergeant Williams' best hope of living longer, and with a higher quality of life - free from the constraints of dialysis - is to undergo a kidney transplant. He may not survive the years long wait for a deceased donor transplant.
A living kidney donor would enable him to bypass this wait. Living kidney donation is safe for those who are medically cleared. The medical testing and surgery is all covered by the transplant center. The costs related to travel, lost wages are also covered. Sergeant Williams has enlisted the help of DOVETransplant, a Veteran's organization that will support all prospective donors throughout the process.
