STATUS:

Waiting

Timothy M. was excited to join the Army, so he enlisted in the delayed entry program before graduating High School. He served his full 2-year option in Germany and in the military police.

After his honorable discharge, he returned to his hometown and worked for the Department of Corrections for 10 years before attending school to become a nursing assistant. He went on to college to become a surgical technician. Timothy went to work at a large hospital, first as a surgical technician, and is now the supervisor for the sterile processing department and has been there for 18+ years.

Timothy’s symptoms of kidney disease started in late 2021. He ended up in the ICU for 10 days in 2022, due to internal bleeding from complications of a kidney biopsy, which necessitated his immediate need for dialysis, and has been dependent on it ever since. He battles fatigue from dialysis but manages to continue working the afternoon shift at the hospital.

Timothy and his wife Sandra have been married for 29 years and are a great support to each other. They have three dogs that they enjoy! They have some wonderful neighbors who they can lean on, which is important to them since they have very little family. Timothy would love to get back to leading a more normal life, not have to work the afternoon shift to do dialysis, and be able to travel and take some day trips!

Timothy has enlisted the help of a Veteran's organization called DOVE Transplant which is helping in his outreach to find his life-saving kidney donor. DOVE will assist all prospective donors throughout the process and make sure they do not incur any out-of-pocket expenses related to the evaluation or surgery.

A healthy person can live a normal life with one kidney and save this Veteran's life! Please click on the link below if you would like to learn more OR call 551-449-8319.
