Waiting

Stephen Alessandra is a Vietnam Veteran, who joined the US Navy right out of high school and served for three years. His duties were with a helicopter squadron in the Coral Sea from 1973-1974 as crew and ground personnel, and from 1974-1975 in Subik Bay, in the Philippines.

After his honorable discharge, Stephen worked as a painter and roofer with his grandfather in California. He later moved into sales, beginning in retail, then eventually into the auto industry for many years. Stephen and his wife, Judy, currently own and operate a home care business helping seniors. Stephen's focus in the business for the last 15 years has been helping many local homeless and disabled Veterans find housing, advocating for them, and transporting them to the VA for appointments.

Stephen has two daughters and three grandchildren. His kidney failure was brought on by the effects of high blood pressure. He has been on dialysis for five and a half years.

With a new kidney, Stephen can get back to doing the things he loves – traveling, sailing, and helping others! Stephen has enlisted the help of a Veteran's organization called DOVE Transplant which is helping in his outreach to find his life-saving kidney donor. DOVE will assist all prospective donors throughout the process and make sure they do not incur any out-of-pocket expenses related to the evaluation or surgery.

A healthy person can live a normal life with one kidney and save this Veteran's life! Please click on the link below if you would like to learn more OR call 551-449-8319. Thank you.
