STATUS:

Waiting

Shaun Toole is a 44-year-old US Navy Veteran spending 4.5 years active duty and 3.5 years reserves starting as a Boatswain's Mate before moving into military intelligence. His active-duty years were spent in Norfolk, VA with six months on a Mediterranean cruise aboard the USS Harry Truman. His reserve service started in 2005 going to school for computer network administration, then doing government contract work in computer systems.

After his service, Shaun went to work in the telemarketing industry before going back to school for hospitality management and was hired at the Hampton VA. He worked as a supply technician and then as a purchasing agent, working there for 11 years. He has recently been employed with the Defense Logistics Agency working a full-time position.

Shaun began to experience some health issues during his service, was treated for high blood pressure and found himself with renal failure in mid 2020. He was diagnosed with Focal Segmental Glomerulosclerosis (FSGS) and has been on dialysis since May 2023 to sustain his life.

Shaun grew up in Brooklyn, NY and enjoys cooking, listening to music, watching podcasts, and collecting sports memorabilia. He has a cousin in Japan and some friends who live locally who are helping him with his campaign to find a living kidney donor. Unfortunately, his family members are not candidates for transplant due to health issues.

Shaun would love to get back to working out and living a fuller life; a new kidney would be a lease on life! He has enlisted the help of a Veteran's organization called DOVE Transplant which is helping in his outreach to find his life-saving kidney donor. DOVE will assist all prospective donors throughout the process and make sure they do not incur any out-of-pocket expenses related to the evaluation or surgery.

A healthy person can live a normal life with one kidney and save this Veteran's life! Please click on the link below if you would like to learn more OR call 551-449-8319.
