STATUS:

Received - Deceased Kidney 3/2024

Nicolas Seymour is a 26-year-old Marine Corps Veteran who served 4 years in the 3rd Battalion, 7th Marines as a radio operator in the infantry. In 2018, Nick spent 8 months in Iraq doing base security, hooking up Wi-Fi connections and raid cameras, and he also taught in the Radio School at Twentynine Palm, CA.

In March of 2020 at the beginning of the Covid outbreak, Nick was diagnosed with IGA Nephropathy. He began watching his diet to help control the decline of his kidney disease. After his honorable discharge in August 2020, Nick went to HVAC school and worked as an electrician for a few months. His kidney disease worsened, and his health deteriorated making it difficult for him to work, and is now 100% disabled. Unfortunately, Nick has been reliant on hemodialysis since October 2020 (over three years) and suffers many side effects of his disease and dialysis.

Recently relocating to Arizona has made it harder for Nick to make connections, fortunately, he has a girlfriend who looks out for him, a wonderful friend Justin who has traveled a long distance to be there for him when needed, and emotional support from some of his fellow Marines. He enjoys the outdoors camping, fishing, hiking, and hunting, as well as wood carving. Nick has a great interest in everything technology, including PC gaming, plus drawing characters and watching animated movies, especially from Hanna-Barbera Productions.

Nick’s family members have health issues that have kept them from being able to donate on his behalf, so he has reached out to DOVE to help in his quest for a living kidney donor. A living kidney will give him the best chance for a longer life and restore him to his active lifestyle. Will you consider sharing this young man’s story - his need for a selfless individual to come forward for him or even consider becoming a donor yourself? DOVE will assist all prospective donors throughout the process and make sure they do not incur any out-of-pocket expenses related to the evaluation or surgery.

A healthy person can live a normal life with one kidney and save this Veteran's life! Please click on the link below if you would like to learn more OR call 551-449-8319.
