STATUS:

Waiting

Kevin Morrow enlisted in the Navy in 1989 and served three years as an engineman working on everything from diesel engines, laundry equipment, elevators, and HVAC systems. He spent his time on the USS Peleliu and was on two six-month Western Pacific deployments, one during Operation Desert Shield and the other during Operation Desert Storm.

After his military service, Kevin worked for an HVAC company for two years when in 1994, at the age of 23, he found out he had end-stage renal failure. Kevin’s doctors tried for 6 years to bring his kidneys back with medication, unfortunately, they were unsuccessful, and he started dialysis in 2000. One year later, Kevin received a deceased kidney and remarkably it lasted for 22 years! He began his battle with diabetes 10 years after his transplant. Kevin now needs a second transplant and hopes to receive a living kidney which could last him the rest of his life.

Kevin and his wife Shalon have been married for six years and have five children and one granddaughter. He loves to watch sporting events and listen to music – gospel, rap, R&B, and jazz. Traveling is important to Kevin, with Australia being one of his favorite places he has been and would love to revisit Dubai to see its transformation since he was there in the 90s. Would you be willing to help Kevin receive his third chance at life - and more time with his family?

Kevin has enlisted the help of a Veteran's organization called DOVE Transplant which is helping in his outreach to find his life-saving kidney donor. DOVE will assist all prospective donors throughout the process and make sure they do not incur any out-of-pocket expenses related to the evaluation or surgery.

A healthy person can live a normal life with one kidney and save this Veteran's life! Please click on the link below if you would like to learn more OR call 551-449-8319.
