STATUS:

Waiting

Kevin Merriweather retired from the Army as a Sergeant Major in 2021 after 28 years of service. He spent two years at Stephen F. Austin College studying and playing football before enlisting. Kevin was in the infantry and did two combat tours in Iraq, a combat tour in Afghanistan, and received many awards and decorations during his time in the Army.

Kevin and his wife Hayley have been married for five years and have a blended family with four children and one two-year-old granddaughter. They both have their own Harley-Davidson motorcycles and enjoy riding them when they can. Kevin also enjoys other outdoor hobbies like working in the yard and playing golf.

Kevin hoped to reach 30 years of service before retiring but his kidney disease prevented him. After his diagnosis of hypertension in 2012, Kevin’s doctors continued to monitor him, and he needed to start dialysis in April 2023. Will you help this Veteran who has sacrificially spent 28 years of his life serving our country and allow him to live out his retirement years with his family healthy and whole?

Kevin has enlisted the help of a Veteran's organization called DOVE Transplant which is helping in his outreach to find his life-saving kidney donor. DOVE will assist all prospective donors throughout the process and make sure they do not incur any out-of-pocket expenses related to the evaluation or surgery.

A healthy person can live a normal life with one kidney and save this Veteran's life! Please click on the link below if you would like to learn more OR call 551-449-8319.
