Received - Deceased Donor Transplant
In December of 2021 James (Jimmy) Day's kidneys failed due to diabetes and he was put on life saving dialysis. He now relies on peritoneal dialysis treatments daily for over 8 hours each treatment. The struggle is real! Treatments are hard on his body and interfere with daily living. They leave him drained and weak.
Jimmy has given to his country and community as a 22-year US Navy Veteran and 15 years as a fireman. He is now in a place where he needs help. The best treatment for kidney failure is transplantation. The best functioning, longest-lasting type of transplant comes from a living donor. Kidney donation is safe for those who are medically cleared. Kidney donors go on to leading completely normal lives with one kidney and can save another's life with their other.
Jimmy has enlisted the help a Veteran's organization (DOVETransplant) to aid in his search for a living donor. DOVE will support all prospective donors throughout the process and ensure they incur no out of pocket expenses. If you are interested in learning more about donation please click on the link below or call DOVE (551) 233-1611. Please share Jimmy's link far and wide. This gives Jimmy the best chance to find his life saving kidney donor. Thank you!
