Hilton Harry came to the United States in 2004 from Guyana, South America and in 2005 became a reservist in the US Navy before becoming active duty in the US Army. He served in the 82nd Airborne Division between 2007-2009 and did two tours in Iraq before being transferred to the Transportation Corps in Fort Eustis in Virginia. The start of Hilton's medical issues and kidney disease diagnosis prevented him from being sent to Afghanistan in 2010. He continued at his post until he was medically discharged in 2012.
Hilton then received a Criminal Justice Associate's Degree and a bachelor's degree in security management. He has had a variety of jobs including working as a bus driver for the NJ Transit Authority and as a UPS driver. Hilton likes to joke that he "has credentials to sit behind a desk but likes to be active"! He has continued to work even with his FSGS kidney disease diagnosis in 2010 and is on the brink of starting dialysis.
Hilton and his wife, Tyanna, have a beautiful 2-year-old daughter that he adores and hopes he can be around to help his wife raise her as she matures. He enjoys exercising and reading everything he can get his hands on, and is known as a "news junkie"!
Hilton has enlisted the help of a Veteran's organization called DOVE Transplant which is helping in his outreach to find his life-saving kidney donor. DOVE will assist all prospective donors throughout the process and make sure they do not incur any out-of-pocket expenses related to the evaluation or surgery.
A healthy person can live a normal life with one kidney and save this Veteran's life! Please click on the link below if you would like to learn more OR call (551) 233-1611. Thank you.
