DOVE Team 35 was finally transplanted in New Jersey at Robert Wood Johnson Medical Center. Sheila and Ron had many bumps in the evaluation and scheduling process. Sheila remained steadfast in her commitment to donate to Ron - even though they had never met. While Sheila was cleared to donate several months ago, she waited for Ron to be medically ready to receive a kidney. This is why they kept their original team number!
Ron has been on dialysis for over five years. He and his family are beyond grateful to Sheila for giving him the hope to live a life free of dialysis. What a wonderful way to celebrate #donatelifemonth!
