DOVE Transplant Team and Their Paired Exchange Team Celebrate One Year
DOVE kidney recipient, Sid Khan, is a Navy Veteran who was able to return to his job as a Ferry Boat Captain after he recovered from his kidney transplant. Joe Axel, DOVE living kidney donor, connected with Sid through their gaming community; they had never met in person until he underwent the donor evaluation. While Joe could have donated directly to Sid, they both agreed to participate in a paired exchange with an incompatible mother and daughter pair. Joe's generosity impacted two lives!
We hear Joe is traveling a lot and doing very well. Sid stays in close touch with Joe and and will be joining DOVE as we march in the NYC Veterans Parade this November!
