Joe Axel never met his recipient Sid Khan in person. They knew each other for years in the PlayStation Community. When Joe saw a DOVE post about Sid needing a kidney transplant - he stepped up right away to see if he could donate one of his. Joe travelled from Michigan, with his fiancee Candy, to NY to donate. Sid is now off of dialysis and feels better than he has in years. Joe is back in Michigan, at last update call (4 weeks post donation) was eager to get back to work!
