My name is William Katt. I served in the U.S. Navy as a Yeoman, Petty Officer 2nd Class, and completed six years of service (4 active, 2 reserve). I was assigned to the Commanding Officer’s staff aboard the USS Kitty Hawk CV-63, and my primary duties were classified material control. Other collateral duties I performed involved assisting with conducting security clearance background investigations for the ship’s officers. I was proud to follow in the footsteps of my grandfather, who served aboard the USS Arizona, and my father, who was career Air Force with two tours in Vietnam and received the Bronze Star Medal for his service.
I pursued a civilian career as a Security Specialist and worked 30+ years in the corporate sector. I have worked as an investigator, security services coordinator, and for several years as an executive protection manager for two global corporations. I am currently working as a security director for a contract security company. I am divorced and have two great stepsons. I love auto racing of all types, fishing, and leisure travel.
In June 2020, I experienced kidney failure and am on dialysis, which keeps me alive until I receive a kidney transplant. Will you join DOVE in our mission to find a kidney for me? William has enlisted the help of a Veteran's organization called DOVE Transplant which is helping in his outreach to find his life-saving kidney donor. DOVE will assist all prospective donors throughout the process and make sure they do not incur any out-of-pocket expenses related to the evaluation or surgery.
