STATUS:

Waiting

Robert Padilla served first in the Air Force as a Personnel Specialist, spending two years in Germany and two years at Los Angeles AFS. He was discharged in 1986, went to college for a year, worked for a year, and got married. Unfortunately, Rob found it difficult to find a job, so he decided to join the Army, became a big rig truck driver, and worked in supplies and ammunition. He was deployed in 1991 during Desert Storm and spent time in Iraq and Kuwait.

After separating from the Army, Rob worked as a mail carrier for two years before he started at Steel Service Center as a middleman selling anything made of steel. He moved up to Operations Manager in the Tucson and Phoenix areas; he was there for 23 years and in 2018 needed to stop working due to his health. Rob has been blessed with Joanne, his wife of 35 years, and they have three adult children. One of his favorite things in life is golf; he has a putting green and even lives on a golf course.

Rob was diagnosed with kidney failure in 2021 and has been reliant on hemodialysis for his survival. He is thankful that it is giving him more strength, he can walk further than before, and is still able to do some traveling. Rob’s dream is to take Joanne on a trip to Europe, and the gift of a kidney transplant can make that happen. Will you join us in our mission to find a kidney for Rob? Your support, whether through spreading the word on social media or considering becoming a donor, can make a profound impact on his life and the life of his family!

Rob has enlisted the help of a Veteran's organization called DOVE Transplant which is helping in his outreach to find his life-saving kidney donor. DOVE will assist all prospective donors throughout the process and make sure they do not incur any out-of-pocket expenses related to the evaluation or surgery.

A healthy person can live a normal life with one kidney and save this Veteran's life! Please click on the link below if you would like to learn more OR call (551) 233-1611.
