STATUS:

Received! Living Donor Transplant 11/26/24

Richard Pascal is an outgoing, vivacious 51 year old Navy Veteran who served for 8 years. While Richard was in the Navy, he was deployed to serve aboard the US Naval Hospital Ship "USNS Comfort" during Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2003. Richard is also an 8404 Fleet Marine Force Corpsman and served with the 2/25 (4MARDIV).

Richard has been married for 13 years and has 2 young children and a third who just graduated from college. After leaving the service, Richard started his own driving company an when he is not busy at work he is spending time with his family. Richard has end stage kidney disease that was a result of chronic high blood pressure and diabetes. He has been told he either needs to start dialysis or undergo a kidney transplant. Kidney transplant is the best option that gives Richard the best chance to live a life free from dialysis. However the wait for a kidney from a deceased donor is over 5 years long.

Richard needs to find a living kidney donor. Living kidney donation is safe for donors who are medically cleared. The evaluation and surgery is covered by Richard's insurance. Other costs related to travel or lost wages are also covered. Richard is working with a Veteran-centric organization, DOVE, in his efforts to find a donor. DOVE will support all prospective donors throughout the process. Please contact DOVE at (551) 233-1611 or click the link below to learn more. Thank you!
