STATUS:

Waiting

Raymond Scott is an Army Veteran, husband, father and kidney disease warrior and advocate.

Raymond, along with his wife Analyn, founded the Charity: 1 in 9: https://1in9kidneychallenge.com/
where they share all the knowledge they have gained through their 25 year journey coping with kidney failure to shine a light on kidney disease and help others.

In 2001 Raymond's brother, also a Veteran, donated a kidney that blessed him with 5 years of freedom from dialysis. For the past 16 years, Raymond has relied on life saving hemodialysis treatments which over the past 10 years Analyn has helped with at home.

Raymond is eligible to undergo kidney transplantation. He’s currently dual-listed on the Portland VA and Houston VA transplant lists. However, the wait for a kidney from the deceased donor list is several years long.

Raymond and Analyn trust that God knows exactly how, when, where and what kidney Raymond is meant to receive and they are truly grateful to those who are inspired and willing to consider donating a kidney.

A living kidney donor would give Raymond the best chance to have greater longevity and freedom to reach and impact more lives with his advocacy efforts.

Living kidney donation is safe for those who are medically cleared to donate. The medical evaluation is covered by the transplant center. Travel and lodging, lost wages and other non medical costs are covered by various nonprofits. Please reach out to Donor Outreach for Veterans (DOVE) if you would like to learn more about donation and see if this is right for you!
