Rafael Paulino enjoyed his time serving his country in the Army, creating beautiful life experiences. He was a Cannon Crew Member in a Field Artillery Unit and was deployed to Iraq in March 2003 during Operation Iraqi Freedom. Rafael will never forget the long-lasting friendships he made with those he served alongside.
During his civilian career, Rafael worked in the maritime industry as a Federal Civilian Mariner. He also worked for the Department of Defense as a Logistics Management Specialist and is officially retired from government service. In November 2021, Rafael was diagnosed with chronic kidney disease (CKD) and is currently at Stage 5. Thankfully, he has not been placed on dialysis, but his disease has reduced his energy levels, which tend to fluctuate.
Rafael is a young 43-year-old man who misses being physically active. With the gift of a kidney, he would have the ability to go jogging again—one of his favorite pastimes. Will you join us in our mission to find a kidney for Rafael? Your support, whether through spreading the word on social media or considering becoming a donor, can make a profound impact on his life!
Rafael has enlisted the help of a Veteran's organization called DOVE Transplant which is helping in his outreach to find his life-saving kidney donor. DOVE will assist all prospective donors throughout the process and make sure they do not incur any out-of-pocket expenses related to the evaluation or surgery.
A healthy person can live a normal life with one kidney and save this Veteran's life! Please click on the link below if you would like to learn more OR call (551) 233-1611.
