STATUS:
Received - Deceased Donor
Ever since he was a little boy, Staff Sergeant Peter Squeri wanted to be in law enforcement. In 1986, he enlisted in the US Army and retired after serving 21 years as a Military Police Officer. He was stationed at Fort Bragg and was part of the 82nd Airborne Division. He spent two years in Germany; was in Panama during Operation Just Cause; in the Middle East during Operations Desert Shield and Storm; and at Camp Long in Korea. Peter is a combat veteran while performing his law enforcement duties. He returned home to Fort Huachuca in Arizona where he spent the last five years of his service before retiring in 2007.
Peter has been working for US Customs and Border Protection for 17 years and is stationed along the Mexican and Arizona Border. He and his wife Susan have been married for 17 years; he happily gained a bonus daughter. He enjoys playing video games with his military friends, and competitive shooting with the US Customs Pistol Team. Before health issues, Peter was a bodybuilder, winning Mr. Virginia Tech, and was a licensed skydiver - both he would like to enjoy again.
In 2012, he was diagnosed with bilateral kidney cancer and eventually, both were removed; he has been reliant on dialysis for his survival ever since. Thankfully, Peter is still able to work his full-time job, with reasonable accommodation. Peter has had multiple people come forward for him but were declined. Will you join our mission to find a kidney for Peter? Your support, whether through spreading the word on social media or considering becoming a donor, can make a profound impact in his life!
Peter has enlisted the help of a Veteran's organization called DOVE Transplant which is helping in his outreach to find his life-saving kidney donor. DOVE will assist all prospective donors throughout the process and make sure they do not incur any out-of-pocket expenses related to the evaluation or surgery.
