While assigned to the 1st Infantry Division, he deployed to Kuwait and Iraq in 1990-1991 during Operation Desert Shield/Storm.
Upon retirement from Active Duty after 22 years, he worked for the Program Manager, Heavy Brigade Combat Team and US Army Tank Automotive Command for another 20 years as a Department of the Army civilian.
This Veteran who has devoted his life to serving our country - now needs our help. He has a genetic condition called Polycystic Kidney Disease that has led to permanent damage of his kidneys. Many members of his family, including his daughter, have been afflicted with this disease.
Mike's best chance to live the rest of his life free from the dependence of a dialysis machine is to find a living kidney donor.
Kidney donation is safe. Those who are medically cleared can live normal lives with one kidney. The medical evaluation and surgery are covered by the transplant center. Any out of pockets costs related to lost wages or travel are covered by organizations like DOVE. (dovetransplant.org).
If you would like to see if you can give back to Mike in this meaningful way, please reach out to learn more about kidney donation by clicking on the link below or emailing: info@DOVETransplant.org. Thank you!
