John is an Air Force veteran who currently resides in Maryland with his loving wife of 46 years, Mary.
John served his country by working as a medic in the service and continued to help people after his military career by working as a laboratory pathologist supervisor for 27 years and as an application analyst at a local hospital. He is now retired and enjoys working on computers and puzzles. John is 71 years old but feels like a young teenager. His zest for life is contagious and it’s hard to not smile when you’re around him.
Members of John and Mary’s families are ineligible to donate due to age and medical issues so a living kidney donor would help keep John from needing dialysis and living an even fuller life.
John has enlisted the help of a Veteran's organization called DOVE Transplant which is helping in his outreach to find his life-saving kidney donor. DOVE will assist all prospective donors throughout the process and make sure they do not incur any out-of-pocket expenses related to the evaluation or surgery.
