Jesse Baker is a US Army veteran who served four years as an Avionic Mechanic responsible for performing maintenance on flight equipment. Jesse loved what he was doing, but unfortunately, he was injured and was not able to continue his military career. The friendships he developed in the Army are still ongoing today.
After his time in the military, Jesse went to school and received a two-year degree in Advanced Electronics to work on aircraft. He graduated three months after 9/11, so jobs were difficult to find. Jesse ended up working with the Colorado Department of Transportation as an electronic specialist for 15 years. He was forced into medical retirement due to kidney failure but loved his time there, saying it felt a lot like the relationships he had in the military.
Jesse and his wife Donna have been married for 21 years. The year 2024 has been a very hard one for them; their son sadly passed away this year at the age of 19. Jesse has been battling kidney disease for over 10 years, which has kept him from being able to travel and enjoy his love of fishing and hiking like he used to do. When he receives his new kidney, Jesse is taking Donna and lots of family with him to Scotland and Ireland to celebrate! Will you join us in our mission to find a kidney for Jesse? Your support, whether through spreading the word on social media or considering becoming a donor, can make a profound impact on his life and the life of his family!
Jesse has enlisted the help of a Veteran's organization called DOVE Transplant which is helping in his outreach to find his life-saving kidney donor. DOVE will assist all prospective donors throughout the process and make sure they do not incur any out-of-pocket expenses related to the evaluation or surgery.
A healthy person can live a normal life with one kidney and save this Veteran's life! Please click on the link below if you would like to learn more OR call (551) 233-1611.
