STATUS:
Waiting
Jerald Stewart is a US Army veteran who served from 1966 to 1968 and is a Vietnam combat veteran with a one-year tour of duty. He was a Demolition Specialist with the Army's 555th Corps of Engineers. After his military service, Jerald worked for Yellow Freight as a city truck driver for 35 years. He also ran his own business from home as a salvage dealer of small metals.
Jerald and his lovely wife, Sandy, have been married for 58 years. They have raised four children and are the proud grandparents of eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Jerald has been on the waitlist for a transplant for two years and has had several bouts with kidney stones; he tires easily and will need to start dialysis soon due to his failing kidney function.
Working with his hands and rebuilding old cars is how Jerald loves to spend his time. However, being out in his garage working on projects is more difficult now due to his decreased energy. Jerald has been active all his life and finds it hard to sit and be idle; he would love to do more with his family. Will you join us in our mission to find a kidney for Jerald? Your support, whether through spreading the word on social media or considering becoming a donor, can make a profound impact on his life and the life of his family!
Jerald has enlisted the help of a Veteran's organization called DOVE Transplant which is helping in his outreach to find his life-saving kidney donor. DOVE will assist all prospective donors throughout the process and make sure they do not incur any out-of-pocket expenses related to the evaluation or surgery.
A healthy person can live a normal life with one kidney and save this Veteran's life! Please click on the link below if you would like to learn more OR call (551) 233-1611.
