STATUS:

Waiting

Jaime “Jim” Cabezas served nine years as a specialist in the US Army Reserves, working at a combat support hospital providing nutritional support to those injured in combat. The aspect of his service he enjoyed the most was meeting new people, building long-lasting relationships, and excelling in every task that was put in front of him.

Jim’s civilian job was in marketing, where he spent over two decades educating doctors about the benefits of modern technology that assists their patients. He finds great satisfaction in helping those in need of mammography, MRIs, CAT scans, ultrasounds, and nuclear medicine receive the best quality healthcare possible. Jim has been diagnosed with FSGS, a condition that causes scar tissue to form on the kidneys. His kidney function has dropped significantly, and he is now reliant on dialysis for his survival.

Jim has been happily married for 20 years and is the proud father of three daughters. He looks forward to watching his girls grow and establish lives of their own and hopes to get back to living a normal life again. Will you join us in our mission to help find a kidney for Jim? Your support, whether through spreading the word on social media or considering becoming a donor, can make a profound impact on his life and the life of his family!

Jim has enlisted the help of a Veteran's organization called DOVE Transplant which is helping in his outreach to find his life-saving kidney donor. DOVE will assist all prospective donors throughout the process and make sure they do not incur any out-of-pocket expenses related to the evaluation or surgery.

A healthy person can live a normal life with one kidney and save this Veteran's life! Please click on the link below if you would like to learn more OR call (551) 233-1611.
