Waiting
Ian Williams arrived in New York City from Trinidad and Tobago at age 18 with the dream of joining the US Army. He happily served ten years in the Army in Tactical Wire Operations and as a Medical Specialist, attaining the rank of Sergeant. Ian spent time in several different countries, including a combat tour in Beirut, cold weather training in South Korea, and jungle training in Panama. The Army taught him teamwork and leadership skills, as well as how to endure and overcome difficult situations to produce positive outcomes for the men under his charge.
After leaving the military, Ian held jobs in several security companies, including personal security and escort for music artists and male and female actors. He retired as a Deputy Director of Facilities Operation for a worldwide marketing company. Ian has been married for 31 years to his best friend and wife, Joanne. They have built a life of love and a pastime of travel in their retirement and are blessed to have a wonderful son and daughter and four amazing grandchildren.
Ian has been diagnosed with Stage 4 chronic kidney disease (CKD) and has recently started dialysis. He enjoys traveling, visiting family and friends, and watching sports and live concerts. Unfortunately, with dialysis on the horizon, it will be difficult for him to travel. Ian’s prayer is to find a donor. Will you join us in our mission to find a kidney for Ian? Your support, whether through spreading the word on social media or considering becoming a donor, can make a profound impact on his life and the life of his family!
Ian has enlisted the help of a Veteran's organization called DOVE Transplant which is helping in his outreach to find his life-saving kidney donor. DOVE will assist all prospective donors throughout the process and make sure they do not incur any out-of-pocket expenses related to the evaluation or surgery.
A healthy person can live a normal life with one kidney and save this Veteran's life! Please click on the link below if you would like to learn more OR call (551) 233-1611.
