SGT Gregory Littles chose to enlist in the US Army after spending a few years in college, coaching middle school football, and starting a family. He served five years as Military Police and then reclassified to Food Service Specialist. Greg was deployed to Iraq between 2005 and 2008, where he worked in Sadr City as a prison gate guard and then in the International Zone of Baghdad (The Green Zone) as a guard in the dining facilities.
After separating from the military, Greg held various jobs: a government contractor on a base in Kyrgyzstan for the food service department; a position with the Department of State Embassy as a Security Manager/Warehouse; a job at a paper plant; a role at an embassy in West Africa; and with the DoD in South Korea, again as a Security Manager/Warehouse. Unfortunately, in 2019, Greg was in a car accident that injured his hand, necessitating a return to the States. While being treated for his injury, Greg discovered he had chronic kidney disease (CKD). After a bout with COVID-19, his kidneys declined rapidly, and in 2022, he began dialysis, which is keeping him alive.
Greg is a young 44-year-old proud father of five children and one granddaughter, and he has a supportive girlfriend, Daisy. He walks 3 or 4 days a week to help maintain his strength. He enjoys watching sports, playing corn hole, and going bowling. Will you join us in our mission to find a kidney for Greg? Your support, whether through spreading the word on social media or considering becoming a donor, can make a profound impact on his life and the life of his family!
Greg has enlisted the help of a Veteran's organization called DOVE Transplant which is helping in his outreach to find his life-saving kidney donor. DOVE will assist all prospective donors throughout the process and make sure they do not incur any out-of-pocket expenses related to the evaluation or surgery.
A healthy person can live a normal life with one kidney and save this Veteran's life! Please click on the link below if you would like to learn more OR call (551) 233-1611.
