STATUS:
Waiting
My name is Glenn Baker, and I served in the USAF for four years, from 1966 to 1970. I was wounded in the 1968 Tet Offensive in Saigon. I was a C-130 Aircraft Mechanic and was honorably discharged as a Senior Airman. I went on to receive my Airframe and Powerplant License (A&P) using my GI Bill, but unfortunately, I was never able to get a job with the airlines.
After the service, I went into the Commercial Real Estate field and progressed through the ranks to become a Commercial Property Manager. I was able to take one of my Class A buildings to receive an award for Best Property in the Mid-Atlantic area and place second in the Nationals. I really enjoyed my time as a Property Manager and retired in 2014.
On October 12, 2024, Mary and I will be married for 50 years; she worked at TWA for 35 years before retirement. We have two sons. The eldest has three very active boys and is a VP for Jones Lang and Lasalle in Commercial RE Sales and Leasing. Our youngest son has been a special needs teacher in the Upper Dublin School District for ten years now.
I have been on dialysis for one year, after fighting various stages of CKD, and feel washed out afterward, making it difficult to get around to household duties, so I schedule my time accordingly. After a transplant, I would like to get back to surf fishing, which I enjoy very much. Will you join DOVE in our mission to find a kidney for me? Your support, whether through spreading the word on social media or considering becoming a donor, can make a profound impact on my life, the life of my family!
Glenn has enlisted the help of a Veteran's organization called DOVE Transplant which is helping in his outreach to find his life-saving kidney donor. DOVE will assist all prospective donors throughout the process and make sure they do not incur any out-of-pocket expenses related to the evaluation or surgery.
