STATUS:

Waiting

I started my USMC journey early, while still in my senior year of high school, looking for hope and a future after both of my parents passed away. I spent the next 22 years serving our country as part of the Air Wing of the Marine Corps, retiring as a Gunnery Sergeant. I enjoyed traveling with my family to places like Hawaii, New Orleans, Okinawa, Camp Pendleton, and Alameda Naval Air Station.

After retirement, I worked in the grocery business and as a warehouse supervisor for a food distributor. The plight of the homeless always affected me, and I found my niche by working for an organization that helped rehabilitate individuals and their families to get a new start in life. I also worked for the Orange County Rescue Mission before landing at the California Family Life Center as a chaplain and caseworker for at-risk children and young adults. Helping others reintegrate into society and giving them hope for a joyful life was so fulfilling for me.

My wife, Susan, and I have been married for 46 years, and we have three grown children, seven grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. I was diagnosed with kidney disease in 2019, have been in Stage 5 for over two years, and have been on dialysis since 2022. Due to my declining health, I had to stop working, and I miss helping others. I enjoy spending time with my family, and my wife and I would love to travel—something we dreamed about when we were both still healthy. I maintain a slower lifestyle and am often tired and weak, but I look forward to getting my life back.

Will you join DOVE in our mission to find a kidney for Eric? Your support, whether through spreading the word on social media or considering becoming a donor, can make a profound impact on his life and the life of his family!

Eric has enlisted the help of a Veteran's organization called DOVE Transplant which is helping in his outreach to find his life-saving kidney donor. DOVE will assist all prospective donors throughout the process and make sure they do not incur any out-of-pocket expenses related to the evaluation or surgery.

A healthy person can live a normal life with one kidney and save this Veteran's life! Please click on the link below if you would like to learn more OR call (551) 233-1611.
