STATUS:

Waiting

Eric Ross is a 63 year old US Veteran who served for 10 years in the USCG. After his honorable discharge, he worked in law enforcement at a county jail and also has worked in maintenance for the Rapid Transit System in Ohio.

Eric has been married for over 39 years to his wife Wanda. He is the proud dad of two adult sons, one of whom is currently serving in the coast guard, and six grandchildren. Eric hopes to live many more years to enjoy his family and experience family milestones.

Eric has been diagnosed with End-stage kidney disease. He is reliant on a dialysis machine to survive. He has been evaluated and cleared to receive a kidney transplant - however the wait for a kidney from a deceased donor is estimated to be 8-10 years for his blood type. Eric may not survive the wait. His best chance of living a long life, free from dialysis is to find a living kidney donor.

Veterans like Eric have sacrificed much in the protection of their country and communities. They now need our help. Kidney donation is safe for those who are medically cleared. The evaluation is covered by the transplant center. Out of pocket costs related to travel, lodging are also covered by organizations such as DOVE Transplant.
