STATUS:

Waiting

Douglas “Doug” Kearse served two years in the US Navy as a personnel specialist handling the records and the changes of the sailors such as leave, marriage, divorce, and births of children. He was a “shore sailor” stationed at the Naval Air Station in Pensacola, FL where the Blue Angels call home, and thoroughly loved his time in the Navy.

After separating from the military, Doug went to a community college for two years before attending Florida Atlantic University receiving a bachelor's degree in arts and philosophy. He then went on to Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and received his Master of Divinity Degree and then his Doctorate Degree in 2005. Doug is now Associate Pastor of Outreach and Evangelism at Church on the Rock and helped launch COTR Global Christian Academy where he teaches.

Doug and his wife Deborah Lynne have five children, seven grandchildren, and one great-grandchild on the way! He is a huge fan of fishing (got that from his childhood), loves eating out at seafood and hibachi restaurants, spending time with his family, and all things Christmas. Doug was diagnosed with chronic kidney disease (CKD) in 2021 from a battle with diabetes and has been reliant on hemodialysis since early 2023 going three times a week, which has been helpful in removing his extra fluid. Doug has so much more life to live serving at his church, and teaching at the academy, and wants to be a blessing to his family. Will you share his story and need for a kidney transplant? Will you even consider becoming his donor?

Doug has enlisted the help of a Veteran's organization called DOVE Transplant which is helping in his outreach to find his life-saving kidney donor. DOVE will assist all prospective donors throughout the process and make sure they do not incur any out-of-pocket expenses related to the evaluation or surgery.

A healthy person can live a normal life with one kidney and save this Veteran's life! Please click on the link below if you would like to learn more OR call 551-449-8319.
