David Lemon enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1971 and spent time training at both Lackland AFB and Chanute AFB. He spent the rest of his five years of service at McGuire AFB in New Jersey as a Fuel System Mechanic.
After he was honorably discharged, David joined his father in the family trucking business, and he continued to drive for over 46 years. He and his wife, Lorraine, have been married for 26 years and share one daughter and one son. They have been blessed with five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren!
David suffers from diabetes and high blood pressure, all of which have led to his kidney failure and his reliance on dialysis since 2020. He continues to enjoy riding his Harley Davidson, tinkering in his garage, small game hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family. Will you join DOVE in our mission to find a kidney for David? Your support, whether through spreading the word on social media or considering becoming a donor, can make a profound impact on his life and the life of his family!
David has enlisted the help of a Veteran's organization called DOVE Transplant which is helping in his outreach to find his life-saving kidney donor. DOVE will assist all prospective donors throughout the process and make sure they do not incur any out-of-pocket expenses related to the evaluation or surgery.
A healthy person can live a normal life with one kidney and save this Veteran's life! Please click on the link below if you would like to learn more OR call (551) 233-1611.
