STATUS:
Waiting
My name is Charles Hardy, Sr, I am 55 years of age and a proud father of three wonderful children. I served in the US Coast Guard as a Captain Cook Substance Specialist.
I worked in the auto industry as a Finance Manager and have been retired since 2014 due to my kidney disease. Unfortunately, I cannot do many things that require physical or mental exertion. On the other hand, experiencing kidney disease has taught me to practice clean living and to appreciate the little things. This part of my journey has been long and revealing the type of person I am.
I have begun to work on giving back to society and will be starting a small food bank in the Mt. Vernon, Virginia area for God has blessed me and I want to pass the blessing on. Some things that I love and bring me joy are fishing, bowling and taking daily walks. There are many veterans in the same position as me and if you choose to help any of us it will be greatly appreciated.
Will you join DOVE in our mission to find a kidney for Charles? Your support, whether through spreading the word on social media or considering becoming a donor, can make a profound impact on his life, and the life of his family!
Charles has enlisted the help of a Veteran's organization called DOVE Transplant which is helping in his outreach to find his life-saving kidney donor. DOVE will assist all prospective donors throughout the process and make sure they do not incur any out-of-pocket expenses related to the evaluation or surgery.
A healthy person can live a normal life with one kidney and save this Veteran's life! Please click on the link below if you would like to learn more OR call (551) 233-1611.
