My name is Art Maglalang, and I am a proud 3rd generation US military service member to this great country. I served in the US Army as an Information Systems Analyst from 1990-2001 providing secure communications for tactical operations command centers. I was deployed during the Gulf War and Operation Southern Watch, and received four Army Commendation Medals, a National Defense Service Medal, and an Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal. I enjoyed the brotherhood and camaraderie of being part of a special team of professionals and traveling the world and experiencing different cultures
After the military, I worked in Information Technology, and at this stage of my career, I am helping train the next generation of IT professionals. Specialist still working. I am trying to keep myself busy but will be retiring in 5 years. Unfortunately, I was diagnosed with End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) in September 2022, and initially was on Peritoneal Dialysis for a year before switching to In-Center Hemodialysis.
I have been happily married to my wife Rose Maglalang for 24 years. We have two children: Justin is 23 years old and is a 4th generation military service member, and Jessica who is a 2nd year Electrical Engineering student at CalPoly SLO. My wife and I enjoy traveling, and after I receive the gift of a transplant, we hope to purchase an RV and visit all 50 states.

Art has enlisted the help of a Veteran's organization called DOVE Transplant which is helping in his outreach to find his life-saving kidney donor. DOVE will assist all prospective donors throughout the process and make sure they do not incur any out-of-pocket expenses related to the evaluation or surgery.
