STATUS:

Waiting

Allan Kelly is a US Navy veteran who joined the reserves in 1966 and served active duty for two years, including 14 months in Vietnam. He was attached to the Seabees Battalion, MCB3. After his honorable discharge in 1972, Allan trained to become a private pilot. Using his GI Bill, he earned his Commercial Pilot’s license, Instrument Rating, Multi-Engine Rating, and eventually received his Airline Transport license.

While flying commercially, Allan did organ transplant runs in the middle of the night to build up his Learjet time, not realizing he might someday be the one needing an organ transplant. He flew commercially until he retired in 2013 from the greatest job of his life! He now raises bees and shoots long-distance competitively.

Allan and his wife Sylvia have been married for 30 years and now live in Dade City, Florida. They have a wonderful, blended family of five children, eight grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. Allan’s kidney issues started in 2015 and are believed to be related to his time in Vietnam, and he has just started peritoneal dialysis to stay alive until a donor can be found. Will you join us in our mission to find a kidney for Allan? Your support, whether through spreading the word on social media or considering becoming a donor, can make a profound impact on his life and the life of his family!

Allan has enlisted the help of a Veteran's organization called DOVE Transplant which is helping in his outreach to find his life-saving kidney donor. DOVE will assist all prospective donors throughout the process and make sure they do not incur any out-of-pocket expenses related to the evaluation or surgery.

A healthy person can live a normal life with one kidney and save this Veteran's life! Please click on the link below if you would like to learn more OR call (551) 233-1611.
