“I have a loving wife and three beautiful daughters—ages 24, 19, and 18. A kidney donor would enable my daughters to have their father alongside them for many more years to come.”

"It would also give me the best chance to continue working in IT at an environmental company that helps to clean and recycle air and water."

Joseph James (Jim) Cochrane is a 50-year-old Navy Veteran who enlisted straight after high school graduation in Kansas. He was deployed to the Persian Gulf on aircraft carrier USS America and participated in operations Desert Shield, Desert Storm, and Provide Comfort. Jim became one of the youngest enlisted aviation air wing warfare specialists. He was honorably discharged in 1995 and is a proud member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Jim has a genetic disorder called Polycystic Kidney Disease that has attacked and permanently damaged his kidney function. He needs to find a living kidney donor in order to live the rest of his life free from dialysis.

Jim received his gift of life on January 5, 2022! You can read an update at: https://www.dovetransplant.org/news/team-7
