Julie learned about @dovetransplant after watching a news story on Team #7 (Jim and Jennifer) in Florida. She specifically chose to be matched with an older Veteran (same age of her husband) wanting her recipient to enjoy his golden years free from dialysis.
Julie donated remotely near her home at Tampa General and her kidney (named JDOG) was flown into Hackensack for Mark.
Mark and Julie met in person for the first time over the winter. They share a deep bond and their families are forever connected.
